Butchart Gardens - Vancouver Island

The Butchart Gardens offer fifty-five acres of wonderful floral display open to the public, with four main gardens. In 1904, Jennie Butchart began to beautify a worked-out quarry site left behind from her husband's pioneering efforts in the manufacture of portland cement.

Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, about 21 km (14 miles) north of the city of Victoria, at 800 Benvenuto Avenue, Brentwood Bay. There are directional signs on all major roads.
