How Our Body Works

Have you ever wondered how our body works? I know I have. Although doctors, scientists and researchers have learned a great deal, we're still trying to figure that out. There are various sytems in our body that all work together and rely on one another. When one starts to break down, others have to pick up the slack. In time this may result in other systems being over burdened, and then they break down as well.

Sometimes a body system will start to give warning signs that it is under stress and breaking down. These symptoms are not to be taken lightly. While medication may help to make us feel like the problem has gone away, we must ask ourselves:

Has the problem actually been fixed, or are we just masking the symptom to give ourselves a false sense of security? What is causing the system to struggle?

Is there something I can avoid exposing it to? Is there something I can do to give it the tools and building blocks it needs to fix and regulate itself again?

It concerns me that we have become a society wanting quick fixes. We have a pain; we want a pill to make it go away right away. We want a surgery to cut out the organ causing pain. We are a throw away society, that is paying the hight cost of increasingly poor health.

More and more people are recognizing that not all the health information available to us is actually helping us to get to the root of the problem. So when reviewing health research, consider who is providing the information. Do you trust them to be objective? For a humorous look at this serious problem, check out the online video called "The Town of Allopath."

Now, let's look at the following body systems, and see how they work, and what is known about what they need to function properly:

Circulatory System

Digestive System

Endocrine System

Immune System

Integumentary System (Skin, Hair, Teeth, Nails, Eyes, Ears)

Muscular System

Nervous System

Reproductive System

Respiratory System

Skeletal System
