How Our Integumentary System Works

Our Integumentary System includes: Skin, Hair, Teeth, Nails, Eyes, Ears

What Can We Do to Help Our Integumentary System?

Nutrition choices we make every time we put some food in our body has a large impact on how we look on the outside of our body, namely our skin, hair, teeth, nails.

If our digestive system is not working properly, our body may not be able to digest all the food we give it. It then views this potentially good food as toxic to us. It may store these toxins in fat cells, or joints, or for many of us, they may break out through our skin. Therefore, we're left with skin we're not too happy with. So working on our digestive system could be a good place to start.

I want to take a moment to talk about teeth. Why? Because, at some point in our life most of us have been told by a dentist that we have a small cavity and we'd better get it filled immediately, or we'll be facing a root canal in short order. We're told that once we've started to lose enamel, there's nothing you can do to reverse or stop the decay. I don't know about you, but those words never rang true with me. If bones and other parts of the body were able to repair, why not teeth?

It turns out teeth can repair. Since some in my family were having teeth problems, I started to do some research and came across another mother, Victoria, who felt the same way I did. Only, she had actually done her homework, by looking into the findings of a research dentist. It seems from time to time dentists have seen teeth reenamelize and damage reverse, but they usually don't understand why.

Think about this for a moment. If your body needs calcium, and it takes it from your teeth to provide your body with what its lacking, why couldn't it put it back in your teeth if you had a sufficient amount back in your system?

Victoria took all her findings and summarized them in easy to follow pocket size booklet, including all the nutrition your teeth need in order to be healthy. Another surprise was that almost every toothpaste on the market includes substances that coat your teeth, and make it difficult or impossible for your teeth to reenamlize.

Our family has found Dental bills to be incredibly pricey, even with a health insurance plan, so I strongly encourage you to read Victoria's booklet and check out her website - Perfect Prescription

Let me give you an example that happened to me personally. I was told by my dentist on a check up that the enamel on the back of my two front teeth had worn off. Feeling them with my tongue I realized he was right, and thought I should have listened to my mother and not used my teeth so much to tear into things. My dentist kindly offered to fix it for me for over a $1000. However, I didn't take advantage of his offer.

After that I came across Victoria's summary of research related to tooth health, and applied it. I kept feeling the back of my front teeth with my tongue, and I kept feeling the enamel come back, gradually growing lower to the bottom of my teeth. Actually, my front teeth seemed to get a little longer, back to the length they were when I was younger. I was absolutely amazed and happy with the results, but not entirely surprised because the research in Victoria's booklet fit in logically with everything else I had learned about health.

I'm telling you this because there's a possibility this information could help your family's teeth, and I can't seem to get a dentist to tell me anything about nutrition for teeth in order to prevent or reverse damage. But along with that I must give the usual disclaimer. Health has many factors. Just because according to my perspective using this information worked for me and my family, I can't guarantee that it will also worked for you. Before I could make any bold claims, there would have to be numerous documented controlled scientific studies controlling as many factors as possible. So you may decide to wait for numerous controlled studies, or you could decide like I did to test it out for yourself.
